Support our Fundraising Goal
The IBFA is dedicated to the Practice, Preservation, and Promotion of the Buddha's teachings. Our temple and monastics join together to bring this to the community. As members of our community, we hope that you, your family and friends and businesses would help support us. Our fundraising goal of $250,000 is needed for the costs associated with the building of the new temple. Please visit our donation page on our website for ways of giving at www.ibfachicagotemple.org/portfolio or drop by the temple to speak with us. Every donation makes a difference regardless of size. We need your support to fulfill our mission and to serve your needs and that of the community.
We would like to honor donations of at least $3,000 with a special recognition of your name displayed on our Recognition Wall in the temple. For the donations of $10,000 or more, the donor's name will be displayed on the Recognition Wall on the 2nd floor.

NEWS

This project relies on the collective efforts from everyone.
The reconstruction of the Enlightenment Temple in Chicago, after being demolished in mid-2020, the foundation works have been completed. Due to the continuation of the epidemic and various reasons, so far, the amount of money raised can only cover two floors, and the plan to build four floors will be forced to postpone. In the original plan, the third and fourth floors are to be used for the "Dhamma Hall", "Meditation Hall" and "Library Room" providing the public with the purpose of physical and spiritual cultivation. Therefore, we sincerely make a plead to everyone from all walks of life to support the Temple and hope that the project can proceed smoothly. It will be a blessing that a four-story Buddhist Temple in Chicago Chinatown can be completed as soon as possible.

When Enlightenment Temple opened in 2004, the old buildings were simple, but lacked sufficient infrastructure to promote our programs. When the temple moved to Chicago’s South Chinatown in 2009, we were optimistic that our new location would offer more educational and meditation opportunities to the public. The temple served us well for many years, but we eventually needed to modernize.
Thus, we began fundraising. In 2020, the existing temple was demolished, and construction began on a new two-story building in its place. Originally designed as a four-story building, plans were revised when we fell short of our fundraising goals due to the pandemic. As we continue to raise funds, we are asking for your support to help us rebuild our temple. Please visit our Donation page today for ways you can help us meet our goal. Thank you for your generosity!
